Entrepreneur in Residence – Jim McClafferty

Jim McClafferty is an experienced manager and entrepreneur with over 25 years of technology and management experience across many industries in both large and small companies. He has built a successful career helping companies make strategic decisions to take advantage of technology developments to build better products, scale their business, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase sales. In 2010 Jim started his own education software company, Brain Parade, and developed its award winning special needs app, See.Touch.Learn.®.

Jim’s strength lies in deep general management experience in startups and multi-million dollar companies alike. In his latest role as an Entrepreneur In Residence with CTNext / CT Innovations he will be able to share his experience with Connecticut based startups and mentor entrepreneurs as they seek to launch and grow their companies.

 Entrepreneur in Residence – Richard Guha

Richard Guha

Former CEO of a Fortune 100 company (Reliant Energy), startup founder and CEO on multiple occasions. Experienced with successful startups for over 22 years, with a number of multi $ million exits or valuations up to $1 Billion, in multiple verticals. Advised over 500 startups, some deeply and at length, with some on a limited basis. Most have been in Silicon Valley, but many have also been in other locations, including the East Coast, the UK, Netherlands, Russia and India. Board member with over 14 companies, experienced in many industries, from high-tech to pharma; energy to telecommunications; consumer packaged goods to financial services; packaging materials to eCommerce; Chemicals to food; personal products to retail. Advised around one third of the Fortune 500. Have led several Fortune 500 companies to several fold growth in market valuation in a few years.
 
Spent about half his career in line management and half in consulting/board positions. Mentored CEOs of companies as large as Perdue Farms, McGraw Hill, H.J. Heinz, and as small as early stage startups, many of which became large businesses.
 
Experienced globally, and with a STEM educational background (Cambridge University Bachelors in Chemistry, Physics, Math and Materials Science, Masters in Chemical Engineering). Familiar with most technologies, from bio-tech to computer software and hardware. Experienced in most business functions in addition to General Management.

Entrepreneur In Residence – Lacey Banks McGill

Strategist

Lacey is the Lead Business Advisor at the University of Hartford Entrepreneurial Center. She provides strategic planning services including business plan and financial model development, go-to-market strategy, presentation support and capital acquisition. Lacey also provides support for government contracting. Her consulting practice is geared toward helping small businesses access and leverage available resources to greater effect. Lacey holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.

Designer In Residence – Zachary Rotholz

Zach is an entrepreneur and furniture designer in New Haven. Zach is available to help startups and growing companies with product design, creative brainstorming, and rapid prototyping. Zach graduated in 2011 from Yale with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and has since launched the cardboard empire that is Chairigami. He has designed everything from cardboard rocking chairs to paper toys to musical instruments and rocks at crowd funding and die-cut manufacturing.

CFO In Residence – Brian Wiley

 

Brian has worked with Entrepreneurs for most of his professional life — as a financial analyst, consultant, banker, and finance exec in operating companies.  He enjoys helping startups and growing companies develop and implement their financial strategies and plans, and can help with fundraising advice and business analysis of all sorts.
